(11869) An open face pocket watch by George Critchley, Liverpool. Hallmarked Chester 1874. Signed key wind full plate fusee and chain movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Gilt dial with Roman numeral hour markers, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock. 18ct yellow gold case with depiction of flowers in a basket to the case back. 51mm. 126gms.

Key wind movement is currently functioning and keeping time. Movement appears to show light scratches and marks but is generally in good condition. Dial seems to be heavily discoloured and tarnished with signs of rusting to the hour markers, rubbing to the Arabic numerals on the subsidiary seconds dial and multiple light scratches. Hands are tarnished and display signs of rusting. Minute hand is bent slightly downwards. Glass has been replaced with plastic, which bears several light scuffs and scratches. Crown appears to show heavy tarnishing, slight discolouration and scratches. Case front shows heavy tarnishing and discolouration with multiple medium scratches and scuffs. Case back appears to show multiple medium scuffs and scratches, with several dark marks and areas of tarnishing around the edge. Pendant currently displays medium scratches and tarnishing. Pendant bow is scratched and chipped. This lot does not come with box or papers. Fellows do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any lots sold.
