Commentary: A wonderful circa 1880 model which is shown in The Jumeau Book, page 232, as “an extremely rare portrait model poupee from the Jumeau firm, circa 1880, uniquely sculpted and unlike any other model”. Her rarity is rivaled only by her exceptional beauty and elegant presence; body is in good original condition. The shoulderplate has a mend on back right edge and there is an old faint hairline at the back crown rim. Notes: She has a first place ribbon from her appearance at the UFDC 21st annual exhibition in 1970 in Detroit; also a ribbon from the 1973 convention in Louisville, Kentucky, She comes with an October 1964 newspaper clipping which features her picture and a bit of commentary; notes with the doll say she is dressed by Betty Ensor in a fashion copied from the 1871 Demorest Fashion Book.
