Porcelain shoulderhead depicting adult lady with oval-shape face, painted blue upward glancing eyes with heavy eyelids, red and black eyeliner, tapered and arched brows, closed mouth, blushed cheeks. Sculpted black hair in soft waves covering the ears, held by a thick braid at the crown, hair is drawn away from face into arrangement in back with rows of curls falling onto shoulders, stippled detail at sides, old cloth body with stitched joints, porcelain lower arms, black velvet and gold silk gown with beaded decoration. Commentary: Rarely seen, circa 1840 doll is especially lovely with wonderful expressive eyes and slightly smiling mouth, good antique body.
