Pressed bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, brown almond-shaped paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner, mauve-blushed eyelids, feathered and brushstroked brows, closed mouth, shaded and accented lips, separately modeled applied pierced ears with blushing detail, original blonde mohair wig and cork pate, old muslin body with stitched joints and leather forearms, two-piece rose silk print gown with lace trim, antique black silk and organza bonnet, old pink leather boots. Commentary: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1876. An exceptionally beautiful face with lustrous patina and delicate facial decoration, rarely-found larger size; sturdy body. Theimer’s Jumeau Book states “this model was sold by Jumeau at the Philadelphia Exhibition, not only as dressed fashion dolls, but also, heads and bodies as parts to his wholesale customers”.
