Description

VERY POUTY KESTNER BISQUE DOLL WITH RARE KID AND COMPOSITION BODY. Marks: 6. 16”. Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, blue sleep eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth, accented lips, brown human hair wig; unusual Kestner body with torso, upper arms and legs of kid, lower arms and legs of composition with ball joints, antique black velvet cape, cotton blonde, brown skirt and velvet bonnet, newer black shoes. Commentary: Wonderful earliest Kestner face has fine quality bisque and decoration; body is illustrated in Foulke’s Kestner doll book. Body has some tape applied to the elbow joints, otherwise excellent condition.
