Stunning Antique Silver Cigarette Case 1849.

This is a truly beautiful work of art in silver. It has a monogram of ACL. It has magnificent scroll and leaf design on front and back. The inside of the case is somewhat gilded. Hinge is length of case. The mechanisms that hold the cigarettes are in wonderful working condition. .
This piece is marked with the initials J.Cl with a very tiny TD next to it and the following English hallmarks : an anchor, lion passant (walking lion) and the capital letter A British sterling hallmarks: anchor ( city mark for Birmingham), lion passant (for 925 sterling), "A" (indicating the year 1849).
