“CAPTAIN STRANGE’S” MAHOGANY AND EBONIZED NAUTICAL MIRRORLate 19th century
Composed of a mahogany ships wheel with ring-turned spindle inset wheel supports and projected baluster hand-holds for steering, centering a mirror plate, the wheel applied to an ebonized anchor; with a presentation plaque inscribed ‘Presented to Captain Strange by the Crew of the Yacht Norma, November 1894’.

Condition

Unusual and in overall good condition. Some minor shrinkage to joints, one of the spheres has been reattached, original dowel was broken. Minor surface imperfections consistent with use.
