4 SWEDISH GLASS VASES ORREFORS, STROMBERG, SKRUF; Collection includes 2 etched Orrefors vases, 6.25" h & 4 5/8"h; Orrefors has strong ties to the Stromberg Glass works. (also known as Strombergshyttan). In 1933 Edward Stromberg, former head of Orrefors, leased the company, in 1976, being in financial difficulty due to a fine in 1973, it was purchased outright by Orrefors. It never recovered and was closed in 1979. This example 7"h and signed on base. Skruf vase of rectangular form with etched image of girl holding bowl and birds in the distance, signed on base, 3 3/4"h. It is interesting to note that Kosta once bought Skruf connecting both of these pieces with the epitome of Swedish Glass Makers.
