Rajasthani School
The Rajasthani School describes a range of styles of Indian miniature painting, which developed at the royal courts of Rajasthan in the 16th century. Rajasthan used to be one of the pioneering hubs of miniature painting in India. In every kingdom, like Mewar and Marwar for example, different styles evolved with some specific common characteristics. Popular themes were the representations of myths and heroic stories, the life of Krishna, landscapes and portraits. The Rajasthani miniatures primarily illustrated albums and manuscripts.
