Inscribed on the verso of the front free endpaper by the author, Gene Fowler, and by John Decker, whose portrait of Barrymore is used for the dust jacket illustration, a clipped portrait is pasted above Decker's inscription. Both inscriptions offering greetings for the New Year, 1944. An example of John Barrymore's bookplate is affixed to the half title. Both of the inscriptions are addressed to Harpo [Marx]. Purchased by our consignor from a Southern California children's medical facility which received the volume as a donation from the widow of Harpo Marx.

Jacket chipped, 3" tear and diagonal crease to front panel; minor wear to volume; near fine in a good jacket.
