This group of shinning Mario Buccellati shells includes two silver coated scallop shells and one solid silver scallop shell. The smaller coated shell has a ribbed pattern. The solid silver shell is upturned with turtle and goldfish form feet.

The silver on the shells is in very good condition. The pieces have minor traces of age and wear. All three shells bear the metal scrolled crest of Mario Buccellati. The largest shell is 5" x 5" x 1" (length x width x depth). The smallest shell is 2.5" x 2.5" x .5" (length x width x depth). The solid silver shell weights 2.85 ozt. The shells are sold with two original Buccellati boxes.

Buccellati Holding Italia (since 1919)

Mario Buccellati opened his first store in Milan in 1919. Soon after, he established himself as a master goldsmith, expanding to Rome, Florence, and later New York in 1956. After Mario’s death, his sons continued running the business. In 1971, his son launched the new Gianmaria Buccellati brand as well. Today, the Buccellati name is still a renowned maker of jewelry and watches.
