This sterling silver picture frame is a Buccellati design. It features reliefs of flowers and vines with a ball border motif. The glass in the frame has beveled edges. The back of the frame has a fold-out stand, wrapped in green leather. The interior of the frame is covered in green fabric.
The sterling silver frame is in good condition, with traces of age and wear on the surface. The edge of the frame has the mark, ‘BUCCELLATI STERLING ITALY’. The frame measures approximately 14” x 11.75” x .5” (height x length x depth), and it fits an 8” x 10” photograph.
Buccellati Holding Italia (since 1919)
Mario Buccellati opened his first store in Milan in 1919. Soon after, he established himself as a master goldsmith, expanding to Rome, Florence, and later New York in 1956. After Mario’s death, his sons continued running the business. In 1971, his son launched the new Gianmaria Buccellati brand as well. Today, the Buccellati name is still renowned as a maker of jewelry and watches.
