number 102 of 300 copies, inscribed "Ivor M.Cross Stowe 1930" on front free endpaper, original black patterned-paper wrappers, label printed in gold, spine chipped at head, Oxford, Holywell Press, 1929; The Emperor Heart, signed by the author on half-title , 1936; Sir John Vanbrugh: Architect & Dramatist 1664-1726, 1938; ¡Oho!, pastedowns stained, 1946 § Thompson (J.M.) Leaders of the French Revolution, Laurence Whistler's copy with his signature "L.Whistler Stowe March 1929" on front free endpaper and pencil sketches on title, a few other leaves and upper cover, Oxford, 1929, the first four with illustrations by Rex Whistler, all but the first original cloth or pictorial boards, the second, third and fourth with dust-jackets by Rex Whistler, slight fraying at edges, all rubbed, [whistler & Fuller 420, 481, 491 & 507] ; and with 3 others by or with contributions by Laurence Whistler, 8vo & 4to (8) Ivor Cross was the first housemaster of Temple house at Stowe School where Laurence Whistler was educated. Children of Hertha was printed while Whistler was there and sold in the school shop.
