A wonderful example of the principles of Futurism, combining illustration with the utilisation of the cheapest materials for the most intriguing and startling graphic & typographic effects. This poem about a card game in Hell is reminiscent of a missal, with its Old Church Slavonic lettering and irregularly cut pages. The first edition had lithographs by Goncharova, but this the second with Rozanova and Malevich's illustrations is considered the more desirable of the two.
