Description
WARMING DISHES - Pair of Assembled 3-Part English Georgian Armorial Warming Dishes, with sterling silver bases and warming bowls, and unmarked lids. All pieces are engraved with Granger-Stewart family crests and "Corde et Manu" (With Heart in Hand) motto. Footed bases are hallmarked for London and silversmith Richard Grove, circa 1810 (date letter illegible), each with two handles and fluted pattern repousse decoration. Lids have similar decoration and attached shell and scroll finials. Central warming pans are hallmarked for London 1818 by silversmith Benjamin Smith II; each outer edge with shell, flower, and scroll decoration. Approx. 7" tall, 10 3/4" wide; 84.46 ozt (bases and bowls only). Small dents and surface scratches, tarnished, otherwise good condition.
