Clement Biddle (1740-1814) was a Revolutionary War army officer, born in Philadelphia. During the war, Gen. Nathanael Greene appointed him as aide-de-camp in 1776. He later served as Deputy Quartermaster General for the Pennsylvania and New Jersey militias, Commissary General of Forage (1777-1780), and Quartermaster General for the Pennsylvania Militia (1781-1783). Clement Biddle is best known, however, as a prosperous merchant, and member of the Biddle family of Pennsylvania entrepreneurs.
