SAMUEL HUNTINGTON. Signer of the Declaration of Independence.
Partly-printed Document Signed, “Sam’l Huntington Governor”, as Governor of Connecticut, January 4, 1793, Norwich, 8.5” x 6.75”, Fine. Being. Being a warrant for the arrest of “Daniel Bissel in the County of Windham, an absconding Debtor...” He is to be brought before a justice of the peace to answer to the administrator of the estate of Hezekiah Williams and to be made to pay the sum of twenty shillings, which is the debt he owes. Toning and some bleed-through from writing on verso; tape repairs on verso; paper is thin in two places under signature. An example of one of our Signers in his post-Revolutionary job.
