1852-Dated, Lithograph of French and Indian War Battle Plan at Lake George, Taken from a 1756 British Engraving, Albany, NY., Fine to Very Fine.
A Lithograph entitled: "A Prospective View of the Battle fought near Lake George, on the 8th of Sept. 1755, between 2000 English, with 250 Mohawks under the Command of Genl. Johnson & 2500 French & Indians under the command of Genl. Dieskau in which the English were victorious captivating the French Genl. with a number of his Men, Killing 700 & putting the rest to flight." Several plates, side by side, measuring approximately 20.75" x 12.25". They show the developing progress of the engagement with marching troops deploying and attacking concealed enemy positions. Published by Richard H. Pease, Albany, [N. Y.], 1852 from an original that was published by "An Act of Parliament" in 1756. Light foxing.
