Unique March 4, 1762 RAISED DENOMINATION Connecticut Five Shillings to Forty Shillings Note
Colony of Connecticut. March 4, 1762. Forty Shillings. CONTEMPORARY RAISED DENOMINATION. Five Shillings to Forty Shillings. Restoration and conservation. Fine.
Fr. CT-144. This extraordinary Connecticut Colonial Currency rarity is most likely Unique! It is a significant RAISED DENOMINATION example being from Five Shillings to Forty Shillings. Significant deft restoration and conservation results in a solid note. Due date of March Fourth 1767. It is very well centered both face and back. The original Five Shillings design on this issue has its denominations rewritten, being changed to read “FORTY” on both its face and back. Overall, this note has the quality of Very Fine. It is very clean in appearance and presentable for display. Any denomination on this March 4, 1762 Connecticut Colonial currency issue is an important rarity. This note is even more remarkable being a “5s to 40s” CONTEMPORARY RAISED DENOMINATION.
