Superb “Silvered” One Cent “AYER'S SARSAPARILLA”
EP-4a, HB-28, S-13, Reed AS01MD. One Cent. AYER'S SARSAPARILLA. Medium “AYER'S.” Choice Uncirculated, Fully Silvered.
Rated as Rarity-1 (100 or so Known) according to Fred Reed. The deep original vivid blue Benjamin Franklin stamp is near perfectly centered. The mica has a couple of natural lamination layers with a bit of craze near the top rim edge, having no actual breaks and showing virtually no contact. On the reverse side legend, "AYER'S SARSAPARILLA TO PURIFY THE BLOOD" retains fully 100% of its original flashy bright Silvering. Rarely is this more common Encased Postage Stamp type found in such high quality and more importantly, 100% Fully Coated Front and Back with its original Silvering! It is simply amazing and worthy of a wholly different level of valuation as such.
