Description
A superb late 19th Century French bronze bust of a beautiful Art Nouveau woman, the beautiful rich color and detail, signed, stamped, titled to the fore of the integral bronze base and raised on a rouge marble square plinth. This fine bronze bust signed by Emmanuel Villanis, "Lucrece", depicts Lucretia, a Roman woman who was known for her virtue and beauty. This bronze shows Lucretia with crown and falling gown. Stamped Society de Bronze de Paris. France 2745, with signature Villanis on left side and "Lucrece" in front. Emmanuel Villanis (December 12, 1858 - August 28, 1914) was a French sculptor. Measures approx. 9" tall x 6" wide.
