Massive Antique English Georgian sterling silver punch ladle by Peter Bateman and Ann Bateman London 1791 – 1799. The largest Bateman Ladle we have ever seen. Proper Marks with 1795 date mark reverse. In the traditional "Old English Bright Cut" pattern. Engraved floral design with cartouches, engraved crest to ladle terminal. Matching assay marks to back. Crisp hallmarks, lovely condition with good patina. 14" long and bowl is 4.25" wide. Weight is 206 grams. Provenance: From the estate of the Chisholm family, a noted old Charleston family.
