This male alabaster figure, once entirely polished, was made by the Mexican Teotihuacan Culture. The almond-shaped eyes look out of the rectangular face and both ears are clearly perforated. The mouth with its fleshy lips is wide open. The broad-cross male figure only wears a kind of loincloth. The edged shape of the sculpture symbolizes male strength.
The figure is restored in several areas. The left leg and the head have been broken off and glued. The stone shows signs of weathering on the verso. The dimensions are 21.5 cm (height) and 8 cm (width). (tfa)
