Lovely print of the young Marilyn Monroe at the beginning of her career, photographs of the actress are always in high demand
This press photo shows the at that time very popular pin-up artist Earl Moran in front of his painting ‘Bus Stop’ from 1946. Beside him is posing his model, the young Marilyn Monroe. Between 1946 and 1950, Marilyn Monroe was working regularly for the painter who first photographed his pin-up models and then painted from the photos.
The gelatin silver print shows on verso several, partly handwritten complemented stamps of Time Inc. and Life Picture Service as well as a stamp and a label of the photo agency Grazia Neri and several handwritten inscriptions in pencil and ballpoint. The print is in good condition considering its age with occasional creases, faintly visible bumped corners and occasional tiny surface defects.
