Description
A terracotta jug with applied black design, Near East, 6th - 7th Century AD, with single handle flanked by fill-hole and spout. The surfaces are decorated with bands of thickly applied slip, taking the form of squiggly lines, x's and pellets. H: 7 ½ in (11.9 cm). Intact, the body deformed from rough handling before firing. Ex Abel collection, UK.
