Description
George Horton James. Probably made by Englo ladies learning to make model American Indian baskets, which worked like the SEG where the ladies sat on a Friday or Saturday evening and worked on their baskets. Mr. James published a book using his mother's Indian basket collection, which is now in the Southwest Museum. The first book is "American Indian Baskets," and the second is "How To Make an American Indian Basket." Probably the finest example ever seen, in a northern California style, although the shape and material is not very typical. Very nice example.
