Serial No. 71161. Made from 1860-1868, this gutta percha model one is a standard 2nd issue with the 7-shot cylinder in 22 rim fire short black powder. It has the 3” octagon barrel in blue with silver plated brass frame and rosewood grips. The revolver is in excellent condition. The barrel retains at least half of the high polish factory blue finish with the balance simply flaked to patina. The frame retains most of the tarnished silver plate. Bore is mint. Perfect working order. Gutta Percha case has flag motif and is cracked on back near one hinge. The name Kate Fisher was engraved on back strap during period of issue. Kate Fisher, alias "Big Nose" Kate, was Doc Holliday's lady friend. She ran brothels and saloons in Dodge City and other frontier towns. "Big Nose" Kate, as she was affectionately known around town, is most remembered for her association with the noted gunman John "Doc" Holliday.
