Description

Very scarce, large 4 3/8" dia. B.F. Meek & Sons, Louisville, Kentucky, hard rubber & German silver ocean fishing reel. Comes with extra strong spiral gear, automatic drag with rear mounted drag switch which also engages the click, spins fast and long. Fitted with a period "Patented Jan. 14, 02" marked Rabbeth drag handle (missing 2 screws), serial no. 1250 is marked on the inner frame ring and it is stamped No. 10 on foot. Also comes with leather thumb drag, shouldered pillars, incised rims, German silver frame rings and crack free fancy circular ribbed end plates with some very light scrapes and pinpoint nicks. There is a small 1/4" dia. area of roughness on the upper back plate and it appears something has adhered to the surface, might be a repair. This E- reel is very impressive to handle and observe in person and has incredible eye appeal in its original uncleaned state.
