(1879-1952) Published by Derrydale Press in an edition of 250, 1931, hand-colored 8" x 10" engraving was part of a six portrait set called the "The Fathers of American Sport" by Ralph Boyer. "Samuel Morris, Esq. / 1734-1812 / Foxhunter'. Mr. Morris was the first president of the Gloucester Foxhunting Club, which was the oldest in the United States and founded in 1766. Signed lower left. Light wear to margin edges and small crease in lower right of plate protruding an 1/8" into the plate for about 1 inch, otherwise this 14 1/8" x 18 1/8" including the full margins is in Very Good plus condition.
