Description
Large and impressive Rookwood Porcelain scenic vase done by Arthur Conant, circa 1919. No one else at Rookwood used the range of colors and signature style as did Mr. Conant. This vase is an excellent example. Pictured are a kingfisher in flight, sails of two boats behind wild and exotic flowers, white caps and crashing waves, low blue hills in the background and a purple and white chrysanthemum in full bloom. A rough drill hole through the bottom effaces part of the Rookwood logo, the date, most of what appears to be shape number 2033 C and a tiny edge of Conant’s monogram. Height 12 inches. Uncrazed and in excellent original condition save the drill hole in the bottom.
