Imaage: UV analysis: 2" horizontal repaired tear with corresponding inpainting, lower left quadrant; 2" horizontal area of inpainting at top of cloud, upper right quadrant; area of cloud only displays evidence of hard cleaning; 1" x 1/2" area of paint surface loss: background area, lower right quadrant; exetnsive craquelure and associated crazing across lower half of canvas, and in upper right corner Frame: gesso gilt w/ stylized lotus leaf motif, and retaining original gilt surface; appears to be mid-19th c.; losses to gesso primarily along bottom run.
