72 ¾ x 43 x 35 in. (184.8 x 109.2 x 88.9 cm).

Provenance: Sadie Coles HQ, London
Exhibited: London, Sadie Coles HQ, Shoulder Pad, April 6 - May 7, 2005
What is Art? The Turner Prize, CBBC News, December 7, 2005
For his third exhibition at Sadie Coles HQ, Jim Lambie continues to reinvest the ephemera of popular culture with new life. Habitually employing records, record players, speakers, clothing, haberdashery, accessories, mirrors or doors Lambie energetically reconfigures these items to become the compositional elements of new sculptural forms. The plasticity of the materials themselves is rediscovered, while the recognizability of the original objects offers an inroad into a metaphorical interpretation of their new incarnation. From here Lambie's titles add another texture of further associations. Lambie, an artist, musician and DJ, constructs installations and sculptures from everyday materials like album covers, wool and safety pins.
