AN UNUSUAL 19TH CENTURY CHINOISERIE DECORATED METAL SAMOVAR OR KETTLE, decorated in gilding with scenes of Chinamen reserved on a faux tortoiseshell lacquered ground, the rectangular body unusually formed with a rear covered water reservoir and a separate forward covered chamber for burning coals, the front fitted with a spout, the top fitted with an overhead swing handle, the whole supported on four relatively tall feet, the main rectangular body 8.4in x 4.7in x 5.25in high, the whole 13.25in high to top of handle.
