Fine 18-Carat Gold Musical Snuff Box by Jean-Georges Reymond, c. 1815
No. 573, with sur-plateau movement by Piguet et Meylan, stamped "P & M", playing a single tune with 2 x 13 teeth mounted on both sides of 7/8-inch (2,5 cm) disc, in engine-turned gold case with chased floral borders on front and lid, acanthus-leaf corners and polished interior with "I.G.R.C." in a diamond-shaped stamp and French and Swiss guarantee marks, length 2 1/8 in. (5,4 cm) x width 1 3/8 in. (3,5 cm), with male winding key, soft-solder repairs on inner lid, case screws not present, playing. Isaac-Daniel Piguet, born in Le Chenit in 1775, worked in partnership with Philippe-Samuel Meylan in Geneva from 1811 to 1828. An exquisite musical objet de vertu.
