3 vols. Folio, contemporary 3/4 red morocco over marbled boards, four raised bands to spine featuring gilt-stamped portraits of Native Americans, marbled endpapers. Volume I, with 27 (of 48) plates, in state C with "War Dance" plate in State D and "Red Jacket" plate in State F; vol. II in state B; and vol. III in state A. With 74 plates bound and 37 additional plates laid or matted (total 111 of 120). Vol. 1: With 27 (of 48) plates, State C. Vol. 2: With 32 plates, first issue title page. Vol. 3: With 15 plates (and 7 loose plates). Lacking map; wear to boards with hinges cracked; creasing to some plates and intermittent brownspotting.
