BRITISH ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION, 1910-1913: 1911 (Feb.9) envelope with "BRITISH ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION TERRA NOVA R.Y.S." printed crest on the reverse; addressed to Wellington by the Assistant Paymaster and Meteorologist Lt. Francis Drake; bearing a Victoria Land 1d tied by the "BRIT. ANTARCTIC EXPD" datestamp and backstamped at LYTTLETON (31 MR) on arrival. Accompanied by the original enclosure which explains that the "memento (envelope bearing a postage stamp of Victoria Land)....is posted by Captain Robert Scott" and bears another example of the postmark. (2 items).
