Planet Of The Apes TV Series (1974) Original Ape Prosthetic - The remarkable success of the original Sci-Fi classic "Planet of the Apes" (1968) generated a never-ending series of sequels (including yet another grand reincarnation this year). The iconic ape make-up first created by legendary wizard John Chambers became perhaps a bigger star to the productions than the stories themselves. In 1974 a TV series was also produced. Roddy McDowall who played Cornelius in the original, came back as "Galen" to give the production an authentic edge, and Daniel Striepeke took the reigns from the master Chambers with the ape makeup. This is a production made orangutan makeup latex prosthetic from the series. It is beautifully mounted for display.
