This lot comprises five bottles of 2007 vintage Château Léoville-Barton from the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux.

Saint-Julien is an appellation in Médoc by the Gironde estuary, adjacent to Pauillac.

The predominant grape variety here is Cabernet Sauvignon and the wines are powerful, complex and long-lived.

The wines from the northern part of the appellation are comparable to those from Pauillac, while in the south the wines tend to be more elegant like those from Margaux. In the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855 there are no premier cru wine estates in Saint-Julien, although the best grand crus of the region, including Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, would most likely be rated even higher today.
