Minted at the San Francisco Mint, this Olympic Gymnast Commemorative Half Dollar was issued to commemorate the participation of American athletes and help finance their training for the 1992 Olympics. It carries the "S" mint mark and has been graded by NGC as a perfect proof coin.
The obverse of the Olympic Gymnast commemorative half dollar depicts a female gymnast in motion with a portion of the American Flag in the background designed by William Cousins. The reverse depicts an Olympic torch and an olive branch with the Olympic motto (Faster, Higher, Stronger) in Latin and was designed by Steven M. Bieda.
