Description
A George IV 18ct gold enamel memorial ring, the woven hair glazed panel, within a black enamel and split pearl surround, to the black enamel and gilt 'In Memory Of' script tapered band with floral embossed sides. Hallmarks for London, 1827. Weight 8.1gms.
Condition
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Near-period inscription to the back of the head 'James Crane, died 25 June, 1825. Aged 29.'. Enamel in good condition with slight surface abrasion. Split pearls show discolouration, surface wear and cracks. Possible replacement split pearls. Length of ring head 1.4cms. Band tapers to 0.5cm. Ring size S.
