A late 19th century memorial painted portrait brooch, the oval swivel panel enclosing a painted miniature of a young soldier with a vacant reverse panel within an acanthus leaf surround. Length 4.6cms. Weight 16.6gms.

Overall fair to good condition, with moderate surface scratches throughout from general wear. There are areas of moderate tarnishing. There is a replacement pin which is bent in two places, the clasp is quite tight. There is a file mark to an area on the reverse of the brooch.
