A PAIR OF CONTINENTAL OPEN ARMCHAIRS WITH LEATHER GILT TOOLED SEATS AND BACK, POSSIBLY SPANISH, 18TH/19TH CENTURY, acanthus carved giltwood finials to crest, the wide square back with bossed corners, the leather backrest with multiple inset bands of gilt tooling centering a fanned medallion, straight arms with demi bullnose bevel on turned supports, the seat and back with leather fringe to apron, on block and turned box stretcher, terminating in baluster form feet. Height: 50 1/2" Width: 26 1/2" Depth: 22"
