Description
Stoneware with underglaze-blue. Annam (Vietnam), approx. 15th cent.
The bowl is of almost round domed shape and possibly comes from a ship-wreck find, as seen from some traces; decorated on the lid with bands and floral patterns, partially abstracted, and set within lobed and pointed reserves. The lower part of the vessel presents an abstracted motif arranged in a row; the vessel bearing a nt of fine craquelure. Wathering to the edge of lid, unusually very good condition in terms of age.
HEIGHT 6,5 CM, DIAMETER 9,3 CM
From a German private collection
