Yellow bronze. Central India, 19th cent.
This bronze, similar to No. 208, is also a toy for cultic purposes. Two mounted horses haul the cart, horses as well as cart are placed on six large open-worked wheels. The riders each hold a stick, have comic faces and an attachment on their head coverings. A peacock with head held high and many bells sits on the heavy shaft. The cart carries a canopy, the cupola is pierced with bud-formed extension. Traces of use and patina.
