Fire-gilded copper repousse. Nepal/Tibet, 18th to 19th cent.
A pair of three-dimensionally crafted sculptures, depicting deities on packing animals, the latter resting on a lotus base. One sculpture offers a crowned deity, adorned and holding a whisk or torch light (?), probably Agnisein (fire deity), seated on a goat.The other sculpture shows a deity, possibly Shiva, in protective gesture with trident and seated on a bull.
