His ideas of visual theatre using screens to evoke mood suited Yeats's poetic drama, and so Craig gave Yeats a model theatre with miniature screens for Yeats to manoevure while he wrote his plays. "All summer I have been playing with a little model, where there is a scene capable of endless transformation, of the expression of every mood that does not require a photographic reality." Craig then permitted him to use full-size screens, devised for his production of Hamlet in Moscow in 1912, for The Deliverer and The Hour-Glass at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, their first appearance in public. He also designed the costumes for The Hour-Glass.
