all cross-stitched with linen ground, silk thread, and crown motif. one signed Elizabeth Walkden and dated 1826. geometric border, floral and urn details. together with sampler bearing initials at top and decorated with symmetrical bassinets, potted flowers, trees, and birds. third sampler, signed by Ann Hannah Baraty in 1838, features alphabet, numbers, animal and floral decoration at bottom. backed with a sign advertising “The Fairy Opera Iolanthe” to be performed at St. Mark’s Hall. larger: H12” W12” From the Private Collection of Mr. Carl Butler, Clayton, Georgia.
