Handsome scene of the daimyo Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his concubine, Lady Yodogimi, enjoying a cherry blossom viewing party at Daigo-ji Temple near Kyoto. A flowered carpet has been spread on the ground, and Hideyoshi lifts a cup of sake as he looks over at a party from the Tokugawa Clan seated across the way. The inset above shows pale pink and white cherry blossoms. Lovely detail in the delicate embossing of the white kimono fabric. An attractive view of this traditional spring activity.
