Description
This is a Sioux Native American Indian "Skull Cracker" war club. This hide wrapped war club features a stone head and sinew sewn red ochered handle with long horsehair drop. This was collected in Chamberlain, South Dakota and is believed by the collector to be from the first part of the 20th century (early). The piece is in wonderful condition and shows a cleaned surface. Drop has early red trade cloth and Hudson Bay green white heart trade beads. Handle has original 1800's glass trade seed beadwork. Club and handle measures 19" long and 44.5" long with the hair drop. Head measures 2.75"x3.25"x1.5"
