"La Collana", translating to "The Necklace,” is representative of the research conducted by the artist in his approach to lithography. Similar color palettes are seen in some of his other prints, often the ones with the same publisher such as "It Diabolo", "There Trampolino" and "The Gemelle". You can see the Italian influences in the structures of both figures face and hands.

Massimo Campigli (ITALIAN, 1895-1971)
Born in Berlin as Max Ihlenfeld in 1895, Massimo Campigli spent most of his childhood in Florence but ended up in Milan. A painter and journalist he began to socialize with futuristic circles in Milan. In 1919, he went to Paris to work as foreign correspondent for the 'Corriere della Sera'. Soon he started painting and consorted with artists like Giorgio di Chirico and Gino Severini and was especially inspired by Fernand Léger's cubism. In his later works, Massimo Campigli remained bound to his motif-world full of ethereal female figures and an archaic and symbolic picture language. During the 60s his figures were reduced to colored markings in a group of almost abstract canvasses. He died of a heart attack in 1971 in Saint-Tropez.
